Adamant Technologies, a spin-off of CSEM (Centre Suisse d’Electronique et de Microtechnique), is an experienced supplier of doped diamond coating technology. These coatings are used for markets such as water disinfection treatment of wastewater containing refractory COD, TOC, AOX, POPs, water sensing and metrology. As a main diamond electrode supplier, Adamant develops, produces and markets conductive diamond products such as boron doped diamond electrodes (BDD) as well as engineered treatment modules.

The company offers two main product ranges - DiaCell® Process for water treatment and SenSys™ technology for water quality monitoring - and diamond coating services.

DIACELL® ELECTROOXIDATION PROCESS, AN ELECTROCHEMICAL AOP (ADVANCED OXIDATION PROCESS) WITH DOPED DIAMOND ELECTRODE FOR GREEN WATER TREATMENT SOLUTIONS

DiaCell® Technology is a range of electrochemical systems based on doped-diamond electrodes for innovative water-treatment solutions. Adamant®-Electrodes consist of a coating of nano-polycrystalline boron-doped diamond (BDD) on adequate substrates. Depending on their configuration, such devices allow direct electrolysis for different kinds of applications in the field of green water treatment without use of any chemicals.

Typical applications are:

Water disinfection with residual effect through generation of mixed oxidants (out of water and mineral salts) for bacteria, viruses, algae, protozoan, etc. destruction in:

  • Swimming pools and spas
  • Drinking water
  • Process water
  • Legionella inactivation in cooling tower and hot water

Wastewater electrooxidation for:

  • Destruction of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in industrial effluents
  • Organic matter oxidation
  • COD / BOD / TOC destruction
  • Colour removal
  • Endocrine disruptors removal (micropollutants)
  • Inorganic pollutants destruction (cyanides, hypophosphites, electroplating bath regeneration

SENSYS™ – MEMBRANE LESS SENSOR BASED ON MICRO ELECTRODE ARRAY ELECTRODES FOR WATER QUALITY MONITORING

SenSys™ is a range of membraneless and electrolyte-free sensors. These are maintenance-free amperometric sensors based on the innovative micro-disc-array electrode technology (i.e. structured layer surface with standard microelectronic processes). They tolerate prolonged exposure to an aqueous environment, with variations in conductivity, pressure, flow rate, pH and temperature as well as interference due to chemical or biological species. Au-SenSys™, based on gold microdisc array electrodes, is dedicated to the measurement of disinfectants / oxidants (chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, hydrogen peroxide), dissolved oxygen and sulfites. New BDD-SenSys™ applications featuring boron-doped-diamond microdisc array electrode sensor can be developed on request.

SenSys™-Control, the dedicated controlling unit of SenSys™ sensors, allows continuous display and storage of main data and is equipped with analog and digital outputs for data monitoring, control and downloading.
