The ultraviolet (UV) disinfection of drinking water is both environmentally friendly and extremely efficient; hence it is no surprise that this treatment technology is globally gaining importance year on year. Employing the most up-to-date development methods, a specific focus has been on optimising the combination of UV light intensity field and retention time distribution. The net result is an extremely energy-efficient UV series, which is designed for a wide range of UV transmittance (i.e. a broad range of water qualities). In comparison to conventional UV systems using low pressure lamps, the efficiency has been increased up to 30%. UV systems using medium pressure lamps require even 4 times more energy for the identical performance.
