OTT Hydrometry

OTT Hydrometry - Water Monitoring Technology

Based in Nottingham, with offices in Sheffield, Dublin and Dundee, OTT Hydrometry Ltd is dedicated to serving the needs of its clients in the UK and Irish markets. The company is a subsidiary of OTT Messtechnik in Germany - a precision engineering company formed that has more than 125 years' experience in water monitoring technology.

The company has three main divisions providing:

  • Technical sales
  • Installation and service
  • Rental of hydrometric and water quality monitoring instruments

OTT combines experience with investment in the future of its products to provide the most up to date technology based solutions for environmental monitoring applications.

SURFACE WATER MEASURING INSTRUMENTS

OTT provide measuring instruments for water level, discharge, precipitation and water quality measurement. We provide sensors and measuring systems for ground or surface water, offering the optimized solution for your measuring tasks. Our range of surface water measuring products includes the following:

  • PSI pressure probe
  • Thalimedes data logger
  • CBS bubble sensor
  • Nimbus bubble sensor
  • Kalesto level sensor
  • SE 200 shaft encoder
  • Staff gauges
  • Max level gauge G1

GROUND WATER MEASURING INSTRUMENTS

Different kind of measuring procedures and instruments offer the correct solution according to the conditions and measuring requirements of measuring sites. Our range of ground water products includes:

  • Thalimedes data logger
  • Oprpheus mini data logger
  • Ophimedes bubble sensor
  • Contact gauge

OTT also provide instruments and systems for the measurement of flow velocity and discharge calculation. Either for continuous or spot measurements, we can supply the relevant equipment.

PRECIPITATION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT

Additionally, OTT offer innovative products for the quantification and qualification of precipitation. Our low maintenance Pluvio unit was developed for the continuous and automatic recording of precipitation volume and precipitation intensity. Due to its high-resolution electronic weighing system this robust appliance offers many advantages in comparison to conventional rain gauges.

The OTT Parsivel is a modern laser-based optical system for the complete and reliable measurement of all kinds of precipitation. The precipitation particles are classified as drizzle, rain, sleet, hail, snow or mixed precipitation. For the precipitation measurements a special sensor head was developed. It measures precipitation optically one meter above the earth's surface (other heights are available on request). The results can be transferred to a data logger or to a PC via serial interface.

MULTIPARAMETER WATER QUALITY PROBES

OTT provide Hydrolab multiparameter for the collection of water quality parameters. Our Hydrolab multiparameter probes have successfully applicable and superior sensor technology for the collection of water quality parameters in both ground and surface water.

The Quanta measuring system has been developed for the cost effective and accurate monitoring of water quality parameters in ground and surface waters. Whether in freshwater, saltwater or contaminated water environments the Quanta delivers data about water quality and level quickly and in an easy to use format.

The newest generation, our Series 5 multiparameter probes, were designed specially for measurement of water quality in surface waters, ground water and wastewater areas. The new Series 5 includes three types of probes:

  • Minisonde 5-MS5
  • Datasonde 5-DS5
  • Datasonde 5X-DS5X

WATER MEASURING SOFTWARE

OTT recognise that reading and operating units should be easy-to-handle and robust for the application in the field. According to your wishes we offer small Pocket PCs or all-weather suitable reading units with single hand operating concept.

OTT Hydras 3 and Hydras 3 Pro fulfil all wishes regarding the data management in measuring networks. The functionality covers the complete communication management in the measuring network, the administration and evaluation of the data, the export and data exchange with external software solutions.

OTT Hydrometry Ltd operate a quality management system based on the parent company accreditation under DIN EN ISO 9001, covering all aspects of the operation from product development though production to sales and installation.
