Filtronics - Municipal and Industrial Water Treatment Systems

From arsenic, iron, manganese, radium, all the way to zinc,
from drinking water to wastewater,
from well water to surface water,

Filtronics makes a system designed to satisfy your requirements. For more than 30 years, we have successfully designed and manufactured water filtration systems for municipal and industrial applications.

Filtronics' proprietary Electromedia® is a permanent filtering element which does not require primary media replacement or chemical regeneration, resulting in sizeable operational cost savings. The company's range of Electromedia® filter systems include a variety of specific applications:

ELECTROMEDIA® 1: IRON, MANGANESE AND ARSENIC REMOVAL

Filtronics Electromedia® 1 is a compact filtration system that commonly reduces arsenic concentrations to well below 5µgl. Being also capable of treating iron and manganese, as well as radionucleides (including radium) and sulfides, EM1 is the preferred filtration system for large and small municipalities. The system design provides a quick backwash cycle, typically 4 minutes in duration, and reclaim of up to 99.9% of its backwash water, limiting the impact on public sewer systems. With high filtration rates of up to 18gpm/ft2, the system provides greater water production within a very small physical space.

ELECTROMEDIA® 2: TURBIDITY FILTRATION (WITHOUT ALUM OR POLYMER)

Electromedia® 2 is a unique filtration system formulated for the filtration of raw waters having a low proportion of colloidal particles and turbidity in the range of 10NTU or less to produce filtrates of 1NTU or less.

ELECTROMEDIA® 3: SUSPENDED SOLIDS FILTRATION

Electromedia® 3 is formulated for the filtration of raw waters having high-suspended solids (in the order of 200ppm) and containing detergents. EM 3 is used in conjunction with an alum and ferric chloride pretreatment to produce filtrates having a turbidity of approximately 10NTU.

ELECTROMEDIA® 4: SECONDARY SEWAGE FILTRATION

Electromedia® 4 treats secondary effluent waters containing suspended and settleable solids in the order of 50ppm. Treatment will result in filtrate qualities of less than 5ppm suspended solids as measured on a one micron millipore paper.

ELECTROMEDIA® 5: TURBIDITY FILTRATION

Electromedia® 5 is specifically designed for the filtration of turbid river and canal water containing high proportions of colloidal material. EM 5 combined with alum feed will produce filtrate qualities of less than 0.3 NTU from raw water turbidities measured as high as 30 NTU.

ELECTROMEDIA® 6: HEAVY METAL FILTRATION

Electromedia® 6 is an industrial application that excels in the filtration of troublesome metals such as lead, zinc, cadmium and chrome. It is commonly applied when high filtrate is required for stringent discharge limits.

ELECTROMEDIA® 7: COOLING TOWER WATER FILTRATION

Electromedia® 7 effectively removes calcium carbonate, iron and other heavy metal precipitates from cooling tower sidestreams. This reduces cleaning cycles and improves heat transfer.

Filtronics has also demonstrated expertise in many additional treatment solutions. Please contact us with any questions about any water treatment requirements you may have.
