Terminodour Down Under

CSO Technik has just completed the commissioning of their first Terminodour system in Australia. Brisbane Water Environmental Alliance (BWEA) ordered the system to abate odours from the existing Sludge thickening plant building at the Oxley Creek WwTW in Queensland. The 425m3 building houses a single sludge centrifuge but is shortly due for expansion and the Terminodour system has been designed to accommodate the plant extension.
The principal equipment was delivered from the UK and CSO’s Australian distributors Aquatech-Maxcon Pty supplied and installed the associated ductwork. The plant is of full stainless steel construction complete with a duty/standby fan arrangement. CSO director David Martin carried out the system commissioning and provided on site maintenance training to BWEA and Aquatech-Maxcon staff.
Although Hydrogen sulphide levels were relatively low the building suffered from high levels of VOC related odours prior to installation of the Terminodour system. Once installed and commissioned the air quality within the building improved rapidly.
The CSO Terminodour system utilises Ionisation technology and is widely used in the UK within the waste water treatment sector due to its low capital cost, minimal running costs and occupational health benefits that are not available with more traditional odour control technologies.
