CSO Technik have just launched their new Mechanical CSO screen that has already generated huge interest and orders.
The Pump Action Screen is as simple as it is brilliant. A scour jet pump replaces the complicated and expensive mechanical cleaning arrangement on most screens. The pump is linked to a 6mm perforated plate stainless steel screen basket that is positioned just below the overflow weir. As the flow rises past the screen solids are retained within the screen basket. These are removed by the scouring action of the pump.
The result is avery effective screen with a simple low cost cleaning mechanism.
It has already proven a hit in Germany where several system arenow being installed.
The Pump Action Screen has been tested at The National CSO testing centre in Wigan England where it acheived a 58% Solids Retention Value (SRV). This is one of the best results acheived at Wigan and is remarkable given the low cost of the screen compared withits nearest compatitors. Even screens with poor SRV figures of around 30% cannot compete with either the capital or running costs of the Pump Action Screen (patent Applied for)
The Pump Action Screen was conceived by CSO Technik and jointly developed with their partners Biogest.
