GRAVITY BELT THICKENERS

Our gravity belt thickener type BGT is used to cut disposal costs by reducing sludge volume. Prior to a digestion tower, a belt thickener can be used to optimise the system in size and treatment time. Different types of belt thickeners are available to handle small sludge flows from 10m³/h up to large flows of 200m³/h in one unit. More than one unit can be used to handle huge flows of more than 200m³/h.

The gravity belt thickener type BGT is popular due to its cost-effective performance, especially evident in its low consumption of operating agents (polymer) and low costs for maintenance and service.

DRUM THICKENERS

If there is a need to handle very small sludge flows in a compact unit with a low space requirement, a drum thickener is ideal. Drum thickener systems that can handle from 2m³/h up to more than 25m³/h are available. To meet a demand for a small system that can handle higher capacities, a combination of belt and drum thickener is provided.

BELT FILTER PRESSES

The belt filter press SNP is used for dewatering of organic and mineral sludges from industrial and municipal treatment plants and for liquid-solid-separation under high pressure to reduce the disposal costs. The sludge or other materials are treated between two belts under pressure moving around several pressing rollers. At the outlet of a belt filter press most of the water is pressed out of the sludge or the products. Up to 14 press rollers guarantee a very high dry solid concentration in the dewatered product.

SLUDGE DRYING TECHNOLOGY - LOW TEMPERATURE DRYERS

Klein manufactures belt drying systems, namely the Pro-Dry® which is a low temperature drying system with a very low consumption of energy. Due to its use of a low drying temperature the system is very safe and easy to handle. Dewatered sludge is distributed on the surface of the low temperature dryer and moves slowly through the drying zones. The drying air at low temperatures crosses the sludge layer and reduces the water content of the sludge. Because of the very careful and soft handling of the sludge the dust production is neglible.

The advantage of drying at low temperatures is that waste heat can be used for drying. The safety is very high and in most cases no treatment of the exhaust air is necessary. Many heat-sensitive products coming from industrial processes and from the food industry can be dried without loss of product-quality. The Pro-Dry belt drying system is used to produce a product with more than 90% DS. The dry solid can be easily handled and stored.
