Tecnia Wins National Award for Environmental Innovation 2006, with the JET LOOP System®

Having participated in the annual competition, sponsored by "Industria e Ambiente" magazine, TECNIA is one of the announced winners.
TECNIA is a Portuguese engineering integration company, which provides complete solutions, for both the public and private sectors, from design to installation of turn-key solutions.

The project for which TECNIA has been graced with the National Environmental Innovation Award 2006 is the JET LOOP System®.
The JET LOOP System® is a state of the art aerobic wastewater treatment system. The JET LOOP System® is both simple and effective, with endless application possibilities such as: domestic and industrial effluents with high organic loads, producing a reduced amount of sludge and a significant decrease in power consumption per cubic metre or treated effluent. The absence of moving parts in the system makes the need for maintenance very reduced.
The JETLOOP System® is made up of a biological treatment reactor, developed by TECNIA for high load effluent treatment such as those encountered in wine manufacturing. This reactor has the same basic working principle as any other activated sludge reactor. The significant innovation stems from the aeration system, which requires no complex mechanical system or equipment. The air is aspirated into the effluent by the suction effect produced by the ejector.
