Swedish ozone generator supplier Primozone has been selected to provide complete ozone packages, including a number of new high capacity and energy-efficient ozone generators, for the £16m state-of-the-art water treatment works being built in York, UK.
The Acomb Landing project will provide water to the residents of York from early 2013.
Primozone is a Swedish supplier of ‘new generation’ efficient and energy-efficient ozone generators for water treatment. The new £16m new water treatment works presently being built at Acomb Landing in York will replace the ageing current water treatment works, which has provided drinking water to residents of York since 1846.
The new treatment works will not only be able to treat more water – around 35,000,000 litres per day – but it will also boast state-of-the-art treatment facilities, which will ensure it exceeds stringent water quality standards, with residents of York receiving better quality drinking water than ever before.
Primozone has been chosen over much larger rivals to supply the complete ozone package needed to remove pesticides from the water at the new works. The package includes not only Primozone’s new patented super-efficient and energy-efficient ozone generators, but also control systems, measuring tools, dissolution mixing systems, static mixers, ozone destructors and more.
Primozone’s ozone treatment solutions were specifically requested by both Yorkshire Water and AECOM, the design / builder of Acomb Landing, as the best of all available options. The project commenced in May and is expected to take around 20 months to complete.
