Development of a Water Quality Metric for South-East Queensland

This white paper was prepared by the Department of Environment and Resource Management of Queensland in 2010.

The objective of the white paper is to develop a quantitative water quality metric to support cost-effective investment in on-ground management actions to reduce sediment loads from agricultural sources.

The paper provides a conceptual framework and review of necessary information for the water quality metric, and has documented a method of combining the elements of the metric in a hypothetical application.

It also provides information in combination with three other projects being undertaken in the Lockyer, Bremer and Logan-Albert catchments as part of the SEQ Healthy Waterways strategy, Healthy Country project.
