Climate Change Adaptation: The Pivotal Role of Water
27 August 2010Water is the primary medium through which climate change influences Earth's eco-system, affecting the availability and distribution of rainfall, snowmelt, river flows and groundwater.
From the supply side, climate change affects the water cycle directly, the quantity and quality of water resources available to meet the needs of societies and ecosystems.
This paper claims that climate change will directly affect the demand for water for industrial use, household use and irrigation, while stating there should be no reason for inaction.
