Report on the Greywater System on Chumbe Island
04 June 2010Chumbe Island's waste water has nutrients present in it that would cause bleaching of corals if they were released into nature without being treated.
Ken Wyatt from the UK has designed an advanced greywater filtration system in consultation with German Senior Expert Services, which was installed by Dr Eberhard Böhm and team in 2008 to treat greywater.
The filtration system treats greywater by removing nutrients and provides irrigation water for small plantations.
