Holistic Water Resources Management: A Professional Education Plan

04 May 2010

This white paper has been prepared by the H2C Team at Mississippi State University in the US. It outlines watershed-scale management for the sustainable use of water resources.

The water management plan presents a proposed framework to meet the educational needs for watershed management expressed in surveys taken by the Northern Gulf Institute, NOAA Coastal Services Center and other discussions.

The framework is based on two tenets – the watershed processes and management practices – to give professional water resources managers the knowledge to implement holistic watershed management.

Holistic water management will lead to healthy watersheds that contribute to healthy coasts and oceans.
