Fuel Tech to market NanO2’s water treatment technology

Engineering solutions firm Fuel Tech has formed a partnership to gain exclusive rights to market and sell water treatment technologies provider NanO2’s dissolved gas technology in certain markets across North America.

The terms of the license agreement also include options for extending exclusivity to additional territories and applications.

Valid until the expiry of the technology’s underlying patents, the agreement will see payment of royalties to NanO2 from sales generated by Fuel Tech.

To retain the exclusive rights, Fuel Tech is set to achieve pre-set minimum royalty requirements in the initial six years of the deal.

Fuel Tech chairman, president and CEO Vincent Arnone said: “Although we do not expect this agreement will have a material impact on our results in 2018, it reflects our ongoing corporate evolution and signals the expansion of our mission to include environmental solutions focused on water.

“We believe that NanO2 offers a potentially impactful technology in the areas of water and wastewater treatment, and will allow us to help address the world’s growing water and process challenges in a sustainable, responsible, and cost-effective manner.”

NanO2’s dissolved gas technology is an infusion process that involves supersaturated oxygen solutions or other gas-water combinations delivery to target process applications or environmental issues.

Various applications of the technology include water and wastewater solutions such as remediation, treatment, biological activity and wastewater odour management.

Arnone further added: “We believe this technology is a strategic fit to our existing technology base.”
