ONE DROP and Rotary launch water and sanitation partnership

Canada-based non-profit ONE DROP and international service organisation Rotary have developed the 2020 Water Partnership, a sustainable programme to improve water and sanitation services in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

The organisations aim to raise $20m for the 2020 Water Partnership, which will specifically work to improve water access and enhance economic empowerment in Central America, Africa and India. The first financed programme will commence in Autumn in Mali.

ONE DROP CEO Catherine Bachand said that the organisation has committed to investing $36m through its recent partnerships.

"The primary focus of our organisation is on delivering sustainable water and sanitation programmes on three continents, and we are now more than ever determined to increase the scale and impact of our work through strategic partnerships."

Water and Sanitation Rotarian Action Group (Wasrag) chair-emeritus Ron Denham said: "We have embarked on this most ambitious collaboration with ONE DROP because we are confident that together, we can truly improve life and livelihood by scaling-up access to sustainable water service in these countries."
