Oman Awards Sewage Treatment Plant Contract

Oman has awarded a $96m contract to a consortium comprising Spanish company Cadagua and Oman-based Galfar Engineering to build a sewage-treatment plant in the Darsait district of Muscat.

The contract also involves designing and building treated effluent storage reservoirs and a transfer distribution pumping station.

The treatment plant will be equipped with membrane biological reactor technology to treat 50,000m³ a day.

The project is part of the Muscat Wastewater Project Master Plan, which started in 2005 and is expected to be complete within three years.
