Scottish Water to start work on wastewater pipeline

Water utility Scottish Water will begin laying a wastewater pipeline between Cheapside Street and Howard Park in Kilmarnock, Scotland, next week.

The first section of pipe will be approximately 500m long.

The project, which will be carried out in three phases, is designed to improve stormwater management through the installation of a new collection and transfer system to increase the water quality of the River Irvine, Kilmarnock Water and the bathing waters of Irvine Bay.

This is the first phase of a larger £31m project to install a new stormwater network between Irvine and Meadowhead Wastewater Treatment Works.
