Parkson Corporation said it will build and install a low-maintenance treatment facility in the earthquake-hit nation of Haiti in the coming months.
The company will collaborate with various non-profit organisations and partners for the project, which will provide quality water for the nation's residents.
Parkson's CEO Zain Mahmood said the company expects to have a new plant designed by the middle of 2010 and installed late this year or in early 2011.
"A Parkson engineer will travel to Haiti in mid-March to evaluate the specific needs, operating requirements and potential installation sites," Mahmood said.
The company also developed and installed a water treatment plant in Thailand following the tsunami, which hit Southeast Asia in 2004.
The plant treated 500 million gallons of water since its launch, Parkson said.
Parkson Corporation is a provider of advanced solutions in water recycling and treatment and is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, US.
