A new sewer and stormwater project is to be built in Central Alberta, Canada, costing C$36m ($35m).
The project will involve building pipelines underneath the Red Deer River to link the City of Red Deer's water treatment facilities to the east and west of the city for use between the city, the province and the federal government.
A sewer link will also be provided as part of the project linking communities south of the city to the wastewater treatment plant.
The pipeline project will include laying two 1.2m lines as part of the Riverside Drive sanitary trunk system on the west bank of the river.
On the east side of the river, a large 2.7m stormwater line, treatment pond and wastewater line will be built to serve the East Hill area, offering connectivity to a regional pipeline serving communities to the south, according to albertalocalnews.com.
A storm sewer main and treatment pond will also be built on the west side of the river.
