Oman Commissions Dhakhliya Water Pipeline Project

Oman has commissioned an OMR90m ($233m) pipeline project in its Dhakhliya region.

The 288km pipeline will supply 25 million gallons of water per day to Dhakhliya.

Starting from the Barka Water Desalination Plant and ending at Bid Bid, the pipeline passes through the districts of Sumayil, Izki, Nizwa, Manah, Bahla and Al Hamra, providing residents with piped water.

The project comprises three stations for boosting and pumping water, an additional three rehabilitated stations, 16 water filling stations and 16 water tankers with capacities of 1,500m³-10,000m³ each.

The Dhakhliya Water Supply Project was undertaken by the Oman Public Authority for Electricity and Water to supply drinking water to the region, according to khaleejtimes.com.
