Sabesp, Ford Sign Water Contract

Sabesp Brazil's Sao Paulo water utility, has signed an agreement with Ford Brazil to supply potable water and dispose sewage.

Under the agreement, Sabesp will provide 30 million litres of water a month to Ford Brazil for a minimum period of 60 months.

The contract also includes the collection of non-household sewage generated in Ford Brazil as well as its removal and disposal in the Sewage Treatment Station ABC, which is located on the border between Sao Paulo and Sao Caetano.

The project is being undertaken by the Brazilian water utility as part of its environmental solution programme to help combat waste, reduce costs and preserve the environment.

As well as ensuring environment protection the project is expected to reduce Ford's costs by up to 40%.
