Bangladesh Water Project to get World Bank Funding

The World Bank will provide $170m to the Chittagong Water Supply Improvement and Sanitation Project to improve water supplies and increase pipe water access in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

The project will support the government's effort to improve water and sanitation services in the Bangladesh port city, in particular to its 250,000 slum-dwellers.

Of the $186.59m the project will cost, the World Bank will provide $170m with the remaining money to be funded by the Bangladesh Government.

The project will be implemented between June 2010 and December 2015, according to thefinancialexpress-bd.com.
