Aecom Technology has received a $25m contract from the City of Indianapolis to provide construction management services for the Deep Rock Tunnel Connection (DRTC) and dewatering pump station in Indianapolis, US.
Aecom received the contract as part of the initial phase of the city's combined sewer overflow (CSO) long-term control plan, which is financed by Citizens Energy Group.
On completion, the DRTC will provide a portion of the CSO storage, collect major sewer overflows and provide future connections to other tunnels.
The main tunnel is 41,600ft long and 18ft wide, with a depth of 230ft.
The downstream dewatering pump station will have a discharge capacity of 90 million gallons per day and an installed capacity of 120 million gallons per day discharging to Southport's advanced wastewater treatment facility.
