Arcis Resources Corp has completed the trial of its new water-borne solids waste reduction solution at the Mercedes-Benz facility located in Alabama, US.
Arcis's mobile fluid recovery (MFR) division, in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz US International (MBUSI) and Clean Harbors, has completed a trial of its customised solution which employs Arcis's fluid recovery process.
As part of the demonstration, the MFR found the solids reduction solution separates solids from the plant's water-borne purge stream.
Arcis president Trevis Lyon said by removing a significant amount of water-borne solids, MBUSI can realize a significant reduction in waste disposal costs while recycling approximately 300,000 gallons of water a year.
"This is another example of MBUSI's commitment to environmental leadership and excellence through implementation of continuous improvement projects that further enhance the 'Zero Landfill' status and environmental sustainability initiatives already implemented by the facility," Lyon said.
Arcis CEO Kenneth Flatt said this water-borne solids recovery solution has applications across many industries and expands MFR's services across a number of industries and markets.
In addition to working with MBUSI on the water-borne purge project, the mobile fluid recovery division has also commenced processing absorbent and solvent wiper materials for the Mercedes-Benz facility. MFR's fluid recovery technology removes around 98% of the solvents, oils and / or contaminates in the plant's absorbents and wipes, Arcis said.
Arcis is a provider of an integrated beneficial reuse and fluid recovery services to generators and customers in the US, South America and the Middle East.
