Brazil's cities ministry has assigned R$140m ($79.6m) for water and sanitation projects in the north eastern state of Bahia.
Potable water supply projects worth R$95.8m ($54.5m) will be implemented in six municipalities, with sewage collection and treatment works worth R$44.1m ($25m) taking place in four districts.
Amélia Rodrigues municipality will receive R$37m ($21m) to expand its potable water supply system, which will include construction of potable water plant, nine pumping stations, 18 reservoirs and 115km of water main pipes.
The works will also include 87km of distribution pipeline and 2,918 domestic connections, reports BNamericas.
Laçu town will receive R$14.5m ($8.2m) for the installation of a sewerage system, including 47km of sewer mains pipes, four pumping stations, 4,914 building connections and a wastewater treatment plant.
