Brazil has launched a tender for a 30-year water and sanitation service concession worth R$6.63bn ($3.59bn) in the city of Cuiabá in Mato Grosso state.
Cuiabá approved the plan to privatise water services in city in September, reports BNamericas.
The work will include construction of water intakes, domestic water and sewerage connections, sewerage outfalls and the installation of water meters.
The value of the project is based on Cuiabá's municipal sanitation plan, and corresponds with expected revenues for the concession period, which will start in 2012.
Currently, water utility Sanecap serves Cuiabá city, providing 99% of the population with potable water supply and 38% with sewerage services.
