Calgon Carbon has secured conditional acceptance for its C3500D wastewater disinfection system.
The conditional acceptance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) allows Calgon Carbon's Ultraviolet (UV) Technologies Division to sell the C3500D to the California market.
Calgon Carbon Americas vice president James Sullivan: "Gaining the California Department of Public Health's conditional acceptance expands the market for the C3500D and exemplifies Calgon Carbon's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction in the design, manufacture, and distribution of UV water and wastewater treatment systems."
The system will be sold in states across the US, including Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, and Hawaii.
Calibrated germicidal UV sensors will enable the C3500D to monitor the performance of the system and control the power output of the UV lamps. It will also ensure the required UV dose is continuously applied while reducing operation and maintenance costs.
The Water Recycling Committee of the CDPH Drinking Water Program found that the C3500D UV disinfection system meets the coliform and virus disinfection criteria found in Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations for recycled waters that have received treatment through a tertiary filtration process accepted by CDPH.
US-based Calgon Carbon is a global provider of services and solutions for making water and air safer and cleaner.
