California American Water purchases Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company

California American Water has completed its acquisition of US-based Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company.

The transaction was approved by the California Public Utilities Commission on 25 February. It will provide nearly 175 additional service connections at the customer base of California American Water in the Los Angeles County area.

Presently, California American Water provides water service to approximately 30,000 homes and businesses in Los Angeles County in California.

It also serves water demand of around 110,000 other customers across the US state.

"Adams Ranch customers now have access to our customer service centre; online account access and conservation tools."

California American Water Southern California director of operations Garry Hofer said: "We are working hard on ensuring a seamless transition for Adams Ranch customers.

"Adams Ranch customers now have access to our customer service centre, online account access and conservation tools.

"We look forward to working with them and welcoming them to the California American Water family."

More than 600,000 customers in California are provided with quality and reliable water and wastewater services by California American Water, which is a subsidiary of American Water (AWK).

Founded in 1886, American Water has its headquarters in Voorhees, New Jersey.

There are nearly 6,800 people working under the company to deliver drinking water, wastewater and other services to approximately 15 million customers across 47 US states as well as in Ontario, Canada.
