7 October 2011

California American Water has issued a technical memorandum regarding water supply alternatives that are designed to meet water shortages in Monterey Peninsula, California, US.

The Monterey water supply analysis examined 11 water projects capable of meeting the area's water supply deficit.

A supplemental memo that examines permitting requirements and anticipated timelines for each project is also being prepared.

California American Water director of engineering Richard Svindland said that the firm has reviewed possible physical solutions to the peninsula's water supply shortage on an equal basis, eliminating factors of ownership and financing.
