Californian city deploys InfoMaster for optimising sewer infrastructure

City of Oakland in California, US, has selected InfoMaster software for optimising its sanitary sewer infiltration and inflow (I/I) reduction programme.

The software has been developed by American provider of business analytics software and technologies for wet infrastructure Innovyze.

Oakland has around 413,775 residents, served through the city’s sanitary sewer system comprising 930 miles of underground pipes, 31,000 structures and seven pump/lift stations.

City authorities have assigned East Bay Municipal Utility District for sanitary sewer treatment and disposal, while it itself manages the public sanitary sewer main pipes carrying waste to the treatment plant.

Oakland supervising civil engineer Jimmy Mach said: "InfoMaster gives us the critical powers of risk-based asset integrity and mathematical modeling while fully leveraging our existing geospatial asset management solutions and hydraulics and CCTV data.

"These powerful capabilities will enable us to accurately assess the condition and performance of our sanitary sewer system, effectively solve our I/I problems, prioritise and optimise our capital planning expenditures based on rigorous analytics, and meet regulatory requirements."

The Innovyze software is an analytics-driven, risk-based asset management solution and has been certified by NASSCO PACP, MACP and LACP V6.0.

It can help in improving performance of ageing sewer infrastructures and eliminate unwanted overflows.
