Brazilian water utility Casal is to receive R$681m ($391m) in federal government funding for water and sanitation projects in the state of Alagoas, Brazil.
Casal will receive the money under the PAC growth acceleration plan's group III.
If funding is confirmed, the national health foundation Funasa will provide R$653m, of which R$500m will be allocated to wastewater projects, R$153m will be used for potable water supply projects, and R$27.5m will go towards a potable water supply project in three municipalities and a wastewater management project in two municipalities.
The federal government has allocated a total of R$5bn for projects under the PAC group III, reports bnamericas.com.
