Corsan receives funding for Brazilian water projects

Brazilian water utility Corsan is to be given R$632m ($357m) to carry out water projects under the country's PAC growth acceleration plan.

Approximately R$384m will be allocated to wastewater collection and treatment projects, and R$249m will be used for potable water projects in the cities of Imbé, Canela and Pinhal.

In Imbé, Corsan will build a sewerage system, which includes 17.6km of pipeline, five pumping stations, 5,825m of outfalls and 1,542 domestic connections.

In Canela, the utility will expand the sewerage system through the installation of a 20km pipeline and 1,570 building connections, and will add a second module to the Santa Terezinha wastewater treatment plant.

Pinhal will receive a potable water system, including pipelines, a pumping station, a reservoir and a water treatment plant, reports bnamericas.com.
