The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has launched a new programme to improve the DEP's efficiency and operations in partnership with Veolia Water.
Under the operational excellence programme, Veolia Water will develop recommendations to streamline the utility's workflows, boost productivity and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
DEP will work with Veolia to implement the best recommendations in operations and maintenance areas over the next four years.
The government department provides more than one billion gallons of water each day to more than nine million residents, including eight million in New York City.
