Dow Water & Process Solutions to use IBM solution for customer app

Dow Water & Process Solutions (DW&PS), a unit of Dow Chemical, will use IBM’s cloud solution for the development of a new customer service app.

The IBM cloud solution will be used by the water company to make accurate water-quality predictions for single or multiple-unit water-treatment designs using DW&PS technologies.

DW&PS has invented a new software app called Water Application Value Engine (WAVE), which can include results of water-treatment components in designs.

The solution will help scale the application and make it easily accessible to customers whenever and wherever they choose, IBM said.

The water company will use IBM’s hybrid cloud solution using SoftLayer infrastructure for its WAVE app.

The interactive experience of IBM’s solution will be used to design and develop the portal solution for WAVE, which will include IBM’s cloud-based collaboration tools.

DW&PS has scheduled the trial for its app later this month.
