EMCOR subsidiary to build reverse osmosis water treatment plant in US city

US-based EMCOR Group’s subsidiary Poole & Kent has won a contract to build and install a reverse osmosis water treatment plant in the city of Clearwater, Florida.

The company will be responsible for all aspects of constructing a 6.5 million gallon per day reverse osmosis membrane water treatment facility.

The construction of the facility will also include building an ozone treatment system and iron treatment system to transform brackish water into fresh potable water.

Poole & Kent will also build chemical storage and feed systems, a groundwater storage tank, concentrate storage tank, pumping systems, an emergency generator system and several new buildings.

In addition, the company will also be responsible for installation of all instrumentation, controls, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.

Poole & Kent president and CEO Pat Carr stated that the company will provide the comprehensive and complex services that are required for building the water treatment plant.

He said: "Our personnel have the expertise and breadth of skills required to meet the exacting standards and rigid specifications of this project, as we have extensive experience building these kinds of facilities."

In April 2010, Poole & Kent was awarded a contract for construction work within the South District Wastewater Treatment Plant in Miami, Florida.

The company was responsible for the development of a chemical storage area with secondary containment and storage tanks, as well as an odour control system with blowers, scrubbers, circulation pumps, duct work and associated valves and controls.
