Electrolytic to supply equipment for Alaskan wastewater facility

18 October 2011

Electrolytic Technologies is to provide its Klorigen on-site chlorine and sodium hypochlorite generators for Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility's John M Asplund wastewater treatment facility in Alaska, US.

Anchorage Water intends to eliminate the handling and storage of pressurised gaseous chlorine currently used at the facility by deploying a less hazardous and equally effective system to disinfect the effluent stream.

The Klorigen system will produce about 5,000 gallons of disinfectant solution per day at a concentration of 12.5% (125 gallons) for long-term storage and direct injection.

The system uses high grade salt and utility-supplied water to generate the disinfectant solution and will be designed for future expansion to 10,000 gallons per day.
