The Public Authority of Electricity and Water of Oman has awarded a OMR13.96m ($36m) contract to Galfar Engineering and Contracting to construct a water pipeline.
The pipeline will transport water from Wadi Adai to Amerat.
Construction work will start following approval from the Ministry Responsible for Financial Affairs in two months' time.
The project will be completed in 17 months, with two months for mobilisation.
Galfar Engineering and Contracting vice-president Jai K Salvi told Muscat Daily that the contract is a medium-sized water supply contract and the firm expects to get three more infrastructure projects in the future.
