IDB to provide loan for wastewater projects in Iran

Tehran Wastewater firm will receive a €240m loan from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for wastewater projects in Iran.

The loan will be used to establish two wastewater treatment plants in Tehran region, reports Mehr News Agency.

Asghar Riyazati, Tehran Wastewater managing director, said the organisation will require about $1.2bn to modernise the wastewater collection and treatment facilities in Tehran.

The world bank has already provided $145m for the Tehran wastewater collection system.
