Innovyze provides network management solution to Bulgarian utility

25 January 2012

Innovyze has provided its InfoNet solution to Bulgarian water utility ViK Lovetch to manage its complex water network, as part of a pilot project to provide better water and sewerage services in the city of Lovetch, Bulgaria.

As part of the pilot, existing network records for the Lovetch water supply system will be converted into the InfoNet database. The project will also provide training for the utility's technical staff.

Two years ago, ViK Lovetch planned to leverage the power of contemporary technologies to manage the system's water and sewer system data flows.

Innovyze channel partner Aquamod was selected to undertake the pilot project to introduce a GIS-based system that would mesh with the utility's existing CRM and accounting systems. The company is also aiming to integrate InfoNet within the SQL environment, enabling a direct link between the utility's network, operations, finance and other databases.

Aquamod managing director Alexander Litchev said the utility selected InfoNet due to its functionality directly out of the box and its user friendliness.

Innovyze is a provider of software solutions for wet infrastructure business analytics, designed to meet the technological needs of water and wastewater utilities, government industries, as well as engineering organisations around the world.

ViK Lovetch serves the Bulgarian city of Lovetch; it also provides water and sewerage services for 100 towns and villages within the north-central Bulgarian administrative region.

The utility also operates a complex 1,792km water supply network across the region and handles more than 100 major pumping stations and chlorination facilities, as well as around 260 water sources and tanks.
