Israel’s Amiad Water Systems opens new unit to serve UK and European markets

Israeli water technology firm Amiad Water Systems has launched its wholly-owned subsidiary in the UK to meet the increasing demands for its water treatment and filtration solutions in the country and Europe.

The new subsidiary, Amiad Water Systems UK, will operate under the supervision of Amiad Europe, another company subsidiary.

It will deliver marketing and technical support functions from its planned base at Swansea, Wales, which will be opened later in the month.

Amiad chief executive officer Arik Dayan said: "We are pleased to be establishing a UK subsidiary based in Wales, and particularly Swansea, which is the home of Welsh Water, with its reputation for providing high quality drinking water and delivering best quality service at the least possible cost.

"With a permanent presence in the UK, we will be in a better position to leverage the increasing demand for clean water solutions in the region.

"We have been supplying products and solutions to this market for many years, and have been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2005, and so this feels like a natural fit for Amiad."

The unit is expected to boost the firm’s business in the UK and deliver technical support for its customers.

It will extend the water technology firm’s reach to 11 sites worldwide and connect more than 170 distributors in order to serve customers across 80 nations.

Earlier, the firm had served projects in the UK, through its distributor based in Swansea, which includes Eden Project in Cornwall, the energy-saving zero-carbon Kingston Heights Project in South London and delivered Cryptosporidium protection in multiple water treatment facilities.
