Germany-based ItN Nanovation has finalised contracts on a joint venture with Saudi Arabian firm Juffali and a consortium of German investors to produce and supply ceramic flat membranes (CFM).
ItN Nanovation will hold a 17.5% stake in the joint venture, which will be known as Saudi Water Nanovation, and will have an option to increase its stake to 40%.
Saudi Water Nanovation will produce the CFM systems and corresponding accessories at its facilities in Saudi Arabia, and will distribute them throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
The products will be used in prefiltration for reverse osmosis for the treatment of drinking water.
Saudi Water Nanovation will start production in 2013.
