22 February 2012

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (LACDPW) in California has selected Innovyze's smart water modelling and management solution software for its capital improvement programme.

Innovyze's InfoWater, InfoWater MSX and CapPlan solutions will enable the department to address water quality, critical design, operational and capital investment planning issues.

The LACDPW comprises of five waterwork districts, providing retail water services to Kagel Canyon, Malibu, Val Verde, Acton and the Antelope Valley.

These districts will operate and maintain the Marina Del Rey water system and manage water quality programmes for the city of Lomita and Peter J Pitchess Honor Rancho water systems.

Innovyze's solution will provide the Department with ArcGIS-centric water infrastructure analysis and management capabilities.

LACDPW Waterworks Division project engineer and associate civil engineer Ray Razo said the firm was looking for a comprehensive, easy-to-use GIS-centric solution for both hydraulic and water quality network analysis and asset performance modelling that would help it optimise its complex water systems.

"The Innovyze ArcGIS-centric smart water network management applications suite gives us a set of very powerful tools to tackle short and long-term planning, operational and management challenges, while maintaining the highest level of service for our customers," Razo added.
