Lehigh County Authority selects InfoWorks CS for wastewater facilities

6 December 2011

The Lehigh County Authority (LCA), in the US state of Pennsylvania, has selected InfoWorks CS software from Innovyze to manage its wastewater facilities.

With the help of Innovyze's InfoWorks CS software, engineers and planners will be able to produce accurate hydraulic modelling of a complex urban collection system network.

The software also delivers a practical method for operational, including real time, control of the wastewater network.

The solution will be used for urban flooding and pollution prediction and the modelling of water quality and sediment transport throughout the network.

Innovyze vice president and its Americas Operations director Erick Heath said the Innovyze family of sewer network modelling products continues to be a standard for the global wastewater industry.

LCA senior project engineer Michael Barron said Innovyze's InfoWorks CS comprehensive network modelling and simulation tool will help the LCA to optimise capital improvements for its sewer system.

"The software provides the flexibility, features, and computational speed to meet our sewer modelling challenges, and do so more quickly, without sacrificing the accuracy demanded by such complex projects," Barron added.

The InfoWorks CS solution facilitates the modelling of total networks or any sub-network, and it was previously selected by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection in June 2011 to manage its wastewater collection system.

LCA provides wastewater collection service for ten municipalities through a regional system of interceptors, as well as sewage collection and treatment services for individual communities where public wastewater systems are needed.
