Paraguay to improve Asunción’s sewerage networks

Paraguay's Ministry of Public Works and Communications is to renovate basic services and environmental sanitation in the city of Asunción with an investment of $16m.

The project includes upgrading the city's sewerage networks and cleaning local streams and areas with contaminated wastewater and solid waste, reports bnamericas.com.

The project is part of Paraguay's plan to modernise Asunción's urban transport system and government buildings.

Paraguay's Deputy Transport Minister Luis Maria Pereira said that Asunción is affected by contamination and poor solid waste management, and the aim of the project is to improve the area through developing the necessary infrastructure.
