Reliable One Resources to offer water purification services to US oil and gas industry

Reliable One Resources intend to set up five potential treatment sites in North Dakota, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada for offering water purification services to oil and gas industry in the US.

Initial plan includes development of two 7,000ft² facilities, each of which will have a daily processing capacity for around 30,000 barrels of fluid.

The US based firm also looks to file a patent for its water treatment technology and processes which can reduce impact of water use and contamination across the oil and natural gas industry.

Growing explorations for oil and gas in US has also increased the stress in the water resources in the country since a single barrel of oil production can lead to three and 100 barrels of water usage, according to industry estimates.

The ‘produced water’ also contains contaminants which can affect underground freshwater resources when it passes through underground fresh water tables or zones, the company said.

The firm will use its technology solutions and proprietary processes to treat water generated from the oil and gas industry.

The solutions will further be tested for additional industries, including mining and agriculture, which also needs to lower water usage and reduce environmental impacts on supplies created due to overuse of water.
