Ridgeline to treat flowback water at Canadian project

26 September 2011

Ridgeline Energy Services has signed a development agreement with a North American oil and gas producer to install mobile development laboratories at a hydraulic fracturing well site in south-west Manitoba, Canada.

Ridgeline will provide contract services for the testing, treatment and recycling of produced and flowback water for use in hydraulic fracturing and water flood applications.

The laboratories will give onsite real-time data on a variety of treated water products and will allow the client to obtain scientific characterisation of treated water for reuse and recycling.

Ridgeline Energy Services CEO Tony Ker said that the technology is particularly well suited for efficiently and cost effectively extracting hydrocarbons from the water for reuse, while minimising energy consumption.
