RWL Water to offer water treatment solution for Chile power plant

RWL Water has won a contract from South Korea’s STX Heavy Industries for construction of a water treatment plant for an FGD project at ENDESA CELTA power plant in Tarapaca, Chile.

RWL Water will supply ultrafiltration (UF) membranes for the project, which is expected to supply 2,400m³ of high-quality desalinated processed water per day.

The UF membranes will form part of the pre-treatment and seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination system at the facility.

The plant will ensure optimum performance for water treatment through two trains of desalination, energy recovery devices, pumps and instrumentation.

STXHI picked RWL Water and its Chile-based agent SIMTECH for the construction of the plant, out of four potential suppliers. RWL Water has also received approval from ENDESA for the project.
