Brazilian water utility Saneago is expecting to start tenders for water and sewerage upgrade works worth R$81.7m ($46.4m) in Goiás state by the end of the year.
The works will be carried out in three cities and funds will come from from Saneago, as well as the ministries of the respective cities, reports BNamericas.
At Cidade Ocidental, the potable water supply service will be expanded with an investment of R$34.1m ($19.4m). The work will include installation of a pumping station, 24.9km pipeline and two capacity reservoirs which will store 3,000m3 and 2,000m3 of water.
Luziânia city will require an investment of R$32.6m ($18.5m) to improve potable water supply, by carrying out works such as the installation a new water pumping station, a reservoir, generator sets, filtering and flocculation equipment along with other improvements.
Saneago will also invest R$15m($8.5m) to improve the sewerage system in Pirenópolis city, through the installation of a 49.8km of collector pipeline, 4,500 building connections, stabilisation ponds and a wastewater treatment plant with anaerobic reactors.
