STW Resources to treat brackish / produced water in Texas

17 October 2011

STW Resources Holding has executed a joint venture agreement with CK Investments Energy to commission a proprietary brackish / produced water processing facility in the Permian and Delaware Basins of West Texas, US.

STW Resources will implement its proprietary technologies at the facility, which will take brackish and / or produced water and process it to fresh water status.

There are over 800,000 billion gallons of water in the salty aquifers of Texas and the system will process about 840,000 to 1.2 million gallons per day.

STW Resources' CEO Stanley Weiner said that the proprietary system will introduce a new source of water suitable for drilling and fracking operations, preserving the fresh water for municipal and agricultural use.
