The Saline Water Conversion (SWCC) of Saudi Arabia is carrying out desalination projects worth SAR 40bn ($10.6 billion) in the country.
The Saudi Arabia Government has planned to privatise SWCC next year, reports Arab News.
SWCC governor Fehaid Al Sharief said that numerous projects such as SAR 25bn ($6.6bn) pipelines, Ras Alkhair and Yanbu Al-Madinah plants and a power generation plant are currently being implemented by SWCC.
At present, SWCC is working out on restructuring it's desal plants in Jubail, Shuqaiq and Yanbu in addition to reorganizing their administration.
The compeny operates more than 30 desal plants on the Red Sea and the Gulf and has a supply network covering more than 4,000km.
